ATF, National Shooting Sports Foundation Offer Up to $10,000 Reward on Gebo’s Burglaries

DALLAS — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, McKinney Police Department, and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), have announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the identification and/or arrest of the suspects responsible for the burglaries and theft of 21 firearms from Gebo’s, a federal firearms licensee, located at 2004 W University Dr., McKinney, Texas.

On Saturday, August 12, at approximately 1:10 a.m., an unidentified suspect forced entry into Gebo’s and subsequently stole a total of nine firearms. The suspect is described as a white male of medium build, with short dark hair and a tattoo on the inside of the left forearm.

On Monday, August 14, at approximately 10:55 p.m., Gebo’s in McKinney was burglarized for a second time, by a person appearing to be the same subject. The unidentified suspect forced entry into the rear of the store and attempted to gain access to the handgun cases but was unsuccessful. However, the suspect was able to access the long gun cabinet and stole 12 long guns from the premises.

The vehicle driven by the suspect is believed to be a dark color sedan, possibly a Nissan Altima.

“We at ATF ask the public to help us solve these serial burglaries. Every day that these stolen firearms remain on the streets of McKinney increases the chances of them being used in a violent crime. If you know something, please say something,” said ATF Dallas Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey C. Boshek II.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact ATF at 1-888-ATF-TIPS. Information can also be sent via email or reported to ATF’s Tips webpage.

The reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF, in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

ATF is the lead federal law enforcement agency with jurisdiction involving firearms and violent crimes and regulates the firearm industry.
