ATF and Firearms Industry Announce $10,000 Reward Offer in Waxahachie, Texas Firearms Theft

WAXAHACHIE, Texas – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the trade association for the firearms industry -- have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft of firearms from Federal Firearm Licensee (FFL) Shooter’s Edge, a retail firearms dealer located in Waxahachie, Texas.

On July 10, 2016 at about 2:20 a.m., unknown individuals gained entry into Shooter’s Edge, located at 1037 US-287 Bypass, Waxahachie, Texas and stole 17 firearms. ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $10,000.

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches the ATF reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.

The continuing investigation is being conducted jointly by the Dallas office of ATF, Waxahachie Police Department, Mesquite Police Department, U.S. Marshals and the FBI.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Waxahachie Police Department at (972) 937-9940 and/or the ATF hotline at 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283- 8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
