Reward Offered in Buena Church Fire

SEATTLE — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) , partnered with the Yakima County Fire District 5, Yakima County Sheriff Office, and the Fire Protection Bureau, is seeking information on the fire that destroyed the Templo Pentecostes Montesion Church on Jan. 19, 2017, located at 820 Buena Road, in Buena, Wash.

The fire was reported at approximately 3 a.m. on Jan. 19, 2017. Investigators are seeking the public’s help to provide additional leads in the investigation on the cause of the fire.

ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that, if the fire is determined to be an arson, leads to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible.

Anyone having information on the fire at the Templo Pentecostes Montesion Church should call ATF’s toll free hotline at 888-ATF-FIRE (888-283-3473). Callers may remain anonymous.

People can also submit a tip through ATF’s new “reportit” app available at www.reportit.com and at Google Play and the Apple App Store. All tips are confidential and can be anonymous.
