ATF and Firearms Industry Offer Reward Up to $5,000 in Storied Firearms FFL Burglary

AUSTIN, Texas – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the firearms industry, have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the burglary of Storied Firearms, a federal firearm licensee (FFL) in Austin, TX. ATF is offering a reward of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $5,000.

On Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at approximately 4:12 a.m., 3 unidentified suspects used a vehicle to forcibly enter Storied Firearms, located at 9300 West Highway 290, Austin, TX. The suspects stole 35 firearms before fleeing the scene. This crime is being investigated by ATF and the Travis County Sheriff’s Department.

Anyone with information about this crime should contact ATF at 1-800-ATF-TIPS (800-283-8477), email ATFTips@atf.gov, or contact Travis County Sheriff’s Office at 512-854-1444. Tips may also be submitted to ATF using the ReportIt® app, available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store, or by visiting www.reportit.com. All calls and tips will be kept confidential.

ATF along with our law enforcement partners are committed to ensuring that our communities are safe, and that those who commit violent crimes such as this are held accountable. The reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF, in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from FFL retailers. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
