ATF Partners with NSSF to Offer Up to $10,000 Reward in Bring Spring Federal Firearms Licensee Burglary

ATF Seeks to Indentify Suspects

DALLAS — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Dallas Field Division is offering a $5,000 reward, combined with an additional $5,000 offered by the National Sports Shooting Foundation (NSSF), for a total reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary and theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee (FFL) in Big Spring, Texas.

On Thursday, April 12, 2018, at approximately 1:45 a.m., two subjects forced entry into Higginbotham Brothers located in the 1900 block of East FM 700. The suspects wore dark clothing, gloves and masks covering their faces. They utilized a baseball bat to break a glass display case. The pair escaped with 15 firearms. The suspects were captured on video surveillance footage.

Suspect one is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium-heavy build. At the time of the burglary, this suspect wore dark-colored pants, a dark, hooded sweatshirt, tan tennis shoes with white soles, dark gloves and a dark mask covering his face.

Suspect two is described as a male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. At the time of the burglary, this suspect work dark or grey-colored pants, a dark, two-tone, hooded sweatshirt with red lettering on the front, dark tennis shoes with lighter soles, one dark glove on his right hand, one light glove on his left hand and a dark mask covering his face.

This reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF, the trade association for the firearms industry, and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF’s reward in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers.
