Jason Stankiewicz is the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) for the Miami Field Division within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF). He was promoted to this position in July 2025. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing all criminal investigations, enforcement & industry operations, and administrative duties across South Florida, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean region.
In January 2025, he was selected to serve an eight-month acting assignment as the Acting Special Agent in Charge (A/SAC) of the Nashville Field Division. Between July 2023 – February 2025, SAC Stankiewicz was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Field Division, overseeing all criminal investigations across the six states of the New England Region.
SAC Stankiewicz began his career with ATF in 2005 as a Special Agent in the Miami Field Division. In 2008, SAC Stankiewicz joined the Miami HIDTA Street Terror Offender Program (STOP) Task Force, leading complex gang investigations. Between 2013 to 2017, he worked in the Miami IV International Firearms Trafficking Task Force, the Fort Lauderdale HIDTA Field Office and the Miami Group II Firearm Interdiction Reduction Enforcement Task Force, leading investigations of large-scale community impact cases.
In 2017, SAC Stankiewicz returned to Miami HIDTA as the Resident Agent in Charge (RAC) and HIDTA Task Force commander, supervising over 25 members from a multitude of LE partner agencies. In 2022, SAC Stankiewicz also served on a one-year detail in ATF Headquarters, Washington, D.C., Field Management Staff as Program Manager and Branch Chief for the Frontline Investigative Support Branch where he was responsible for assisting, advising, and working on behalf of ATF executive officials on a wide variety of complex matters, to include supervising ATF’s national Monitored Case Program.
In 2004, SAC Stankiewicz began his federal career in the United States Secret Service, Uniformed Division.
SAC Stankiewicz received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Stockton University (NJ) and previously attended the University of Scranton (PA) where he studied finance.
