ATF Offers Reward in Alcova Marina Fire
ATF and Natrona County Sheriff’s Office Seek Public’s Help in the Alcova Marina Building Fire
ALCOVA, Wyo. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Cheyenne Field Office, in conjunction with the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the fire at the Alcova Lakeside Marina building.
This fire, which occurred on July 4, 2023, at approximately 5:08 a.m., prompted numerous citizens to call the Casper-Natrona County Public Safety Communications Center. Natrona County Fire District requested mutual aid assistance from the City of Casper Fire-EMS Department and Bar Nunn Fire Department due to the extensive fire damage to the structure. With those additional resources and the use of 10,000 gallons of water from the nearby Alcova Lake, the fire was under control after about three hours.
Through our existing partnerships, local investigators from Natrona County Sheriff’s Office and the Natrona County Fire Investigation Task Force consulted with ATF Denver Field Division certified fire investigators, which led to the deployment of the ATF National Response Team.
The NRT provided an immediate and sustained response for a week, bringing state-of-the-art equipment and highly trained, qualified ATF personnel specializing in fire origin and cause determination.
Anyone with information about this fire should contact ATF at 888-ATF-TIPS (888-283-8477) or the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office at 307-235-9282.
