ATF and Firearms Industry Offer Reward of Up to $15,000 in Monroe Firearms Theft

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the National Shooting Sports Foundations, the trade association for the firearms industry, have announced a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a burglary occurring in Monroe today. ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000, which will be matched by both the NSSF and the Union County Crimestoppers for a total of up to $15,000.

Early this morning, a person or persons broke into Monroe Pawn and Gun, a federal firearms licensee, located at 1105 Skyway Drive. Multiple firearms were stolen during the break-in.

ATF is investigating this theft along with the Monroe Police Department. Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Monroe Police Department at 704-282-4710, ATF at 1-800-ATF-TIPS (800-283-8477), or Crimestoppers at (704) 283-5600. ATF along with our law enforcement partners are committed to ensuring our communities are safe, and that those who commit violent crimes such as this are held accountable. The reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
