ATF Offers $5,000 Reward for Information Related to Saginaw Arson

Detroit, Mich. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Detroit Crime Commission, are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for arson.

This arson event happened in the 1100 block of Emily Street, Saginaw, MI, in the early morning hours of July 5, 2021. Surveillance video (linked below) shows an individual pouring a suspected ignitable liquid on the side of the residence. The suspect then ignited the vapors causing the residence exterior to erupt in flames causing significant damage to the exterior with heavy smoke damage seen in the interior of the residence.

ATF is offering the reward for the amount of up to $2,500, which will be matched by the DCC for a total reward of up to $5,000. This reward is part of a larger state-wide cooperative initiative between the DCC and ATF in which DCC matches ATF’s reward in identifying criminal organizations to improve public safety.

Anyone with information about this incident or identification of the individual involved is asked to contact the Detroit Crime Commission through calling 800-44-ARSON. Tips to the ATF can also be received through - Call 1-888-ATF-TIPS (1-888-283-8477), email ATFTips@atf.gov or submit information anonymously via www.ReportIt.com or the Report It mobile app, available on Google Play or the Apple App Store. When using Report It, select “ATF – Detroit Field Division” as the reporting agency.

Provide as much information as you can relating to the identity and whereabouts of these individuals. Information can be submitted anonymously, but if a reward is sought, be sure to include contact information. Information eligible for reward must lead to the arrest and conviction of an individual.

ATF is working in partnership with the Saginaw Fire Department, Saginaw Police Department. ATF is the federal agency with jurisdiction for investigating fires and crimes of arson.
