Welcome to ATF’s Boston Field Division. Our division is responsible for ATF criminal enforcement and industry regulatory operations throughout the six New England states. Our dedicated work force is comprised of special agents, industry operations investigators, auditors, technicians, intelligence analysts and administrative staff.

ATF is committed to reducing violent crime in our neighborhoods. We accomplish this by focusing our investigative efforts on armed violent criminals, gun traffickers and gangs. We work with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and increase our effectiveness through these partnerships.

Explosives and arson enforcement is an integral part of ATF’s overall violent crime reduction strategy. We conduct criminal investigations and assist local and state fire and police agencies across New England. We also provide training pertaining to arson and bombings investigation.

The Boston Field Division is home to the highest concentration of major firearms manufacturers in the nation. Because of this, our industry operations investigators have a unique knowledge of the manufacturing process and the regulations that govern this industry. They work to ensure that all firearms and explosives are stored, handled, and sold in a safe manner according to the law.

We encourage all residents to get involved and assist us in our goal of reducing crime in our neighborhoods. Give us a call and let us know what we can do for you. Our telephone number is (617) 557-1200.
