K-9 Tico was acquired by ATF in August 2023. After months of intensive training with his ATF handler, Tico was certified as a Special Response Team (SRT) Tactical K-9. Tico and his handler are currently assigned to SRT 5, based in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tico is certified in obedience, building and area searches, tracking, tactical movement and aggression control. His job is to protect the public by helping ATF Special Agents and other law enforcement officers find and apprehend violent criminals. Tico assists the ATF SRT during high-risk operations throughout the United States and its territories. The operations include, high-risk enforcement warrant operations, rural fugitive manhunt operations, undercover robbery investigations, buy/bust, and protection operations.
