The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to 27 CFR 555.30(a), that requires any licensee or permittee who has knowledge of the theft or loss of any explosive materials from their stock shall, within 24 hours of discovery, report the theft or loss by telephoning 1–800–461–8841 (nationwide toll free number) and on ATF F 5400.5, in accordance with the instructions on the form.
