The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on March 18, 2019. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on the extension with change of an existing collection. The purpose of this information collected is to determine who qualify to engage in the business of importing a firearms or firearms, or ammunition, and implements of war, and to facilitate the collection of registration fees.
