The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on January 11, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to allowing ATF to determine if a registrant qualifies to engage in the business of importing a firearm or firearms, ammunition, and implements of war, and to facilitate the collection of registration fees.
