The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on October 25, 2017. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the extension of an existing collection. . The proposed information collection pertains to records that show daily activities in the importation, manufacture, receipt, storage, and disposition of all explosive materials covered under 18 U.S.C. Chapter 40 Explosives. The records are used to show where and to whom explosive materials are sent, thereby ensuring that any diversions will be readily apparent, and if lost or stolen, ATF will be immediately notified.
