Request for ATF Background Investigation Information (ATF Form 8620.65) (OMB Number 1140-0105)

The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on January 27, 2020. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the extension with change of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to other federal, state and local agency representatives requesting ATF background information officially by submitting Form ATF Form 8620.65. ATF will make an authorized disclosure of information based on the type of agency requesting the information and the reason for the question.
