ATF Adds $10K to Reward for Information on Cold Case Murder of Brandon Keiser

OCEANSIDE, Calif. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced today it will add $10,000 to the reward, for a total of $11,000, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons responsible for the murder of Brandon Keiser. San Diego County Crime Stoppers offered $1,000 on the 5-year anniversary of Keiser’s murder.

On March 22, 2016, at approximately 10:05 p.m., Oceanside Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in front of 410 S. Freeman St. When officers responded, they found 35-year-old Brandon Keiser shot once. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives interviewed witnesses who reported hearing an argument followed by gunshots. Law enforcement is investigating the possibility the shooting was not a random act. Additionally, three weeks earlier on Feb. 27, 2016, Ray Lopez was shot during an attempted homicide in San Marcos, California. Detectives have reason to believe the two shootings are connected.

Anyone with information about Keiser's murder is asked to call the Oceanside Police Department's Crimes of Violence Unit at 760-435-4872. If you would like to remain anonymous please call the San Diego County Crime Stoppers tip line at 888-580-8477. Emails can also be sent anonymously to www.sdcrimestoppers.org
