Casper Man Arraigned for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm

Richard McCloskey was detained at the request of the government and will remain in custody pending trial. If convicted, McCloskey faces up to 15 years’ imprisonment with three years of supervised release and up to a $250,000 fine. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

This crime is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Casper Police Department. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan C. Coppom.

An indictment merely contains allegations, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
