New Orleans Man Indicted for Distribution of Fentanyl

NEW ORLEANS — U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced today that on September 29, 2023, Joshua Hogan, was indicted in a previously sealed indictment on four counts of distribution of fentanyl, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(B), and 841(b)(1)(C). The indictment was unsealed on October 18, 2023.

In Counts 1 and 2, Hogan was charged with distribution of fentanyl in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 841(a)(1) and 841(b)(1)(C). If convicted of these counts, Hogan faces, per count, up to 20 years imprisonment, a fine of up to $1,000,000, at least three years of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100. In Counts 3 and 4, Hogan was charged with distribution of 40 grams of more of a mixture or substance containing fentanyl. If convicted of these counts, Hogan faces, per count, from five up to 40 years of imprisonment, a fine of up to $5,000,000, at least four years of supervised release and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Dawkins of the Violent Crime Unit is in charge of the prosecution.
