Billings Man Indicted on Firearm and Drug Charges Sentenced to 58 Months

BILLINGS, Mont. — A traffic stop by the Montana Highway Patrol on November 23, 2020, led to the arrest of Raymond Gerald Fillion, a previously convicted felon, for the unlawful possession of a firearm, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.

In court documents, the government alleged between September 2020 and November 23, 2020, Fillion knowingly possessed with intent to distribute methamphetamine; knowingly possessed a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime; and knowingly was previously convicted in 2018 for crimes prohibiting his possession of a firearm or ammunition.

Fillion pleaded guilty in November 2021 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. On April 14, 2022, he was sentenced to 58 months in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release along with standard and special rehabilitative conditions.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated this case. ATF’s Denver Field Division and Billings Field Office are especially grateful for the support, resources and assistance of the Livingston Police Department, Park County Sheriff’s Office, Montana Highway Patrol, and United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Montana.
