The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the Application for Federal Firearms License-ATF Form 7 (5310.12)/7 CR (5310.16) that is used by members of the public to apply for all types of federal firearm licenses (FFL’s). The information requested on the form is used to determine the eligibility of the applicant to obtain a FFL, and verify the identity of a responsible person.
