The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on the extension without change of a currently approved collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the ATF Form 3210.12 that is used by a State to certify that it has established a qualifying mental health relief from firearms disabilities program, based on certain minimum criteria established by the NICS Improvement Amendment Act of 2007, Public Law 110-180, Section 105, enacted January 8, 208 (NIAA).
