The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on February 24, 2017. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of a currently approved information collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the records that show the explosive material inventories of those persons engaged in various activities within the explosive industry and are used by the government as initial figures from which an audit trail can be developed during the course of a compliance inspection or criminal investigation.
