Paperwork Reduction Act Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on April 29, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the extension of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to ATF Form 5400.13/5400.16. Chapter 40, Title 18, U.S.C., provides that any person engaged in the business of explosive material as a dealer, manufacturer, or importer shall be licensed (18 U.S.C 842 (a)(1)).
