The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on May 22, 2015. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides an additional 30 days for public comment on the extension of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to information provided both orally and in writing to the authority having jurisdiction for the fire safety in the locality in which explosives are stored. The information is necessary for the safety of emergency response personnel responding to fires at sites where explosives are stored.
