Paperwork Reduction Act Notice on Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on the proposed extension of an existing collection. The non-immigrant alien information will be used to determine if a non-immigrant alien is eligible to purchase, obtain, possess, or import a firearm. Non-immigrant aliens must maintain the documents while in possession of firearms or ammunition in the United States for verification purposes.
