Purpose

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is amending its regulations at 27 CFR 555.201(f) to require any person who stores explosive materials to provide written notice to the local fire authority having jurisdiction every 12 months for as long as storage continues, and when you discontinue storing at that location. This builds on the existing requirement for initial oral (same day) and written (48-hour) notice.
