About Nashville Field Division

Welcome to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Division. The Nashville Field Division encompasses the states of Tennessee and Alabama, from Music City USA to the Gulf Coast. The Nashville Field Division is responsible for enforcing federal laws pertaining to gun crime, arson, explosives and alcohol/tobacco diversion. ATF is also responsible for regulating and investigating private industry relating to firearms and explosives.

The dedicated men and women of ATF in the Nashville Field Division and throughout the country is comprised of special agents, industry operations investigators, forensic auditors, certified fire investigators, certified explosive specialists and a variety of administrative/support staff.

ATF is committed to reducing violent crime and keeping our neighborhoods safe. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents focus investigative efforts on violent offenders, armed career criminals, gun traffickers and gangs. Our industry operations investigators work to ensure that firearms and explosives are manufactured handled, stored and sold in a safe but lawful manner. We work in partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout Tennessee and Alabama to accomplish these goals.

Investigating gun crime, firearms trafficking, criminal bombings and suspected acts of arson are all vital aspects of the ATF mission. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents combat arson and explosives-related crimes by conducting intense proactive investigations while working in partnerships with local/state fire investigators and police bomb squads.
