Paperwork Reduction Act Revision of a Currently Approved Information Collection
Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on April25, 2019 . As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the revision of an existing collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the Form 1 (5320.1) that is required to obtain permission to make and register a National Firearms Act (NFA) firearms. Approval of the application effectuates the registration of the firearm to the applicant.
