Paperwork Reduction Act Extension of an Information Collection
Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. This proposed extension seeks comments on an existing form which provides information that allows ATF to determine if firearms or ammunition proposed for importation by nonimmigrant aliens are able to be imported, and to certify that a nonimmigrant alien is in compliance with 18 U.S.C. 922(g) (5) (B). The completed form also serves as the authorization for importation, if granted.
