The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 60 days for public comment on a new collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the amendment to the CCTA, which requires that a person who sells more than 10,000 cigarettes or more than 500 single-unit consumer-sized cans or packages of smokeless tobacco per month and conducts non-face-to-face consumer sales must report to ATF specific information regarding their inventory and those sales.
