Initial Suitability Request (ATF Form 3252.4) (OMB Number 1140- New)

The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on January 27, 2020. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the new collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the Initial Suitability Request-ATF Form 3254.4 used by ATF’s confidential informant (CI) handlers to collect personally identifiable information, criminal history and other background information, in order to determine an individual’s suitability to serve as an ATF CI.
