Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 additional days for public comment on a new collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the Prohibited Persons Questionnaire—ATF Form 8620.57, that will be used to determine if a candidate for Federal or contractor employment at ATF is prohibited from possessing or receiving firearms or explosives as described in 18 U.S.C. 922(g) or (n), and/or 18 U.S.C. 842(i).
