Paperwork Reduction Act Extension of an Existing Information Collection
Purpose
The Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 requires agencies to publish proposed information collections in the Federal Register for public comment before an agency can use the process (generally a form) to collect information from the public. The proposed information collection was previously published in the Federal Register on November 17, 2016. As required by the Paperwork Reduction Act, this notice provides 30 days for public comment on the extension of a currently approved information collection. The proposed information collection pertains to the form (ATF F 8620.65) that is used by ATF to maintain a record of another agency's official request for an individual's background investigation record.
