These records show daily activities in the importation, manufacture, receipt, storage, and disposition of all explosive materials covered under 18 U.S.C. chapter 40. The records are used to show where and to whom explosives materials are distributed.

ATF is announcing a 60-day request for e-comments on a previously approved information collection “Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles.” (ATF Form 3310.12).

Persons interviewed by ATF contract investigators as a part of a federal background investigation are randomly selected to voluntarily complete a survey that measures the effectiveness, efficiency, and professionalism of the investigator. Interviewees who provide email addresses during the interviews may be emailed a survey to complete and return to a specific ATF email address. The Information Collection (IC) OMB 1140– 0058 is being revised to correct a typographical error in the Interview Ratings section. A question from the survey was also removed, as it is not included in the investigator’s current line of questioning.

Per 18 U.S.C. 845 (Licenses and user permits) applicants must submit ATF Form 5400.13/5400.16 to determine if the applicant is qualified to be a licensee or permittee under the provisions of the statute. The form will be submitted to ATF to determine whether the person who provided the information, is qualified to be issued a license or permit. The information collection (IC) OMB 1140–0070 (Application for Explosives License or Permit—ATF F 5400.13/5400.16) is being revised due to material changes to the form, such as a revised format and layout to improve user experience, removal of the Responsible Persons List along with accompanying sections, removal of the Explosives Storage Magazine Description Worksheet and replaced with a condensed version as a question.

The Firearms Transaction Record/Registro de Transaccio´n de Armas de Fuego allows Federal firearms licensees to determine the eligibility of persons purchasing firearms. It also alerts buyers to certain restrictions on the receipt and possession of firearms. The purpose of the collection is to relay the status of an illegal alien currently sponsored by ATF and to request continued use of the individual as an ATF Confidential Informant.
