Circumstances of Death
Special Agent Donald Cleveland was involved in a fatal automobile accident in New Hampshire, when his government vehicle left the roadway and collided with a fence post. He died at the scene. It was suspected, albeit never proven, that Agent Cleveland may have been in pursuit of a vehicle transporting liquor.
Agent Cleveland joined the Bureau of Prohibition sometime prior to 1933; however, personnel records are incomplete. In 1934, he was assigned to the Baltimore Field Division prior to his transfer to Boston in 1935.
Agent Cleveland was survived by his wife, Florence.
