Circumstances of Death
Special Agent Donald Cleveland was involved in a fatal automobile accident in New Hampshire, when his government vehicle left the roadway and collided with a fence post. He died at the scene. It was suspected, albeit never proven, that Agent Cleveland may have been in pursuit of a vehicle transporting liquor.
Agent Cleveland joined the Bureau of Prohibition sometime prior to 1933, however, personnel records are incomplete. In 1934, he was assigned to the Baltimore Field Division prior to his transfer to Boston in 1935.
Agent Cleveland was survived by his wife, Florence.
