Circumstances of Death

Prohibition Agent George Droz was among several agents participating in an illicit liquor raid at a farm in Marrero, LA. While searching the exterior of the residence, Agent Droz fell through a disguised hole in the ground, directly into a vat of boiling mash. Agent Droz received severe, scalding and 3rd degree burns. He was rushed to the local hospital, but died several days later. Two occupants of the house were arrested.  Agents seized a 150 gallon still and 100 gallons of alcohol.

Background

Agent Droz joined the Prohibition Unit on May 22, 1922.
