Circumstances of Death

Prohibition Agent Malcolm "Mack" Day and other agents were executing a federal search warrant for illicit liquor on the property of Jim Sneed near Welch, WV.  During the search, Sneed ran into his house, retrieved a gun and shot and killed Agent Day.  Other prohibition agents then shot and killed Sneed.

Background

Agent Day joined the Prohibition Unit on May 1, 1920, with any annual salary of $1,800.

Personal

Agent Day was born in Buchanan City, VA.  He was survived by his wife, Charlotte (née Milam), of Belcher Mountain, WV.
