Circumstances of Death
On December 8, 1939, Special Agents Norval Lee DeArmond and Jack Lee were in pursuit of a moonshine laden vehicle near the Kansas-Nebraska border. At a sharp turn in the road, their government vehicle ran off the highway and crashed. Agent DeArmond was rushed to the local hospital, but died 24 days later.
Agent DeArmond joined the Prohibition Unit on February 4, 1922, with an annual salary of $1,800.
Agent DeArmond was born in Lincoln Center, Kansas. He was survived by his wife and their three children.
